Dublin, Ireland, 29 September 2019
Just last week, during the UN General Assembly, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN Youth) published the 3rd edition of its Youth Solution Report.
SSDN Youth is an initiative of the UN; a program launched by the UN Secretary-General in 2012 to mobilize global expertise around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Within the context of this initiative a selection committee received 4,344 solutions originating from 174 countries. 50 solutions (25 for profit and 25 not for profit) were selected to be included in this year’s Youth Solution Report.
“Verge.Capital is so proud to be 1 of the 25 for profit solutions among the thousands of applications from around the world. We are proud to be acknowledged for the principles that drive our vision. We were established to empower individuals’ fair access to credit, to promote financial inclusion and to improve the financial well being of our fellow citizens. It is so fulfilling to be acknowledged by global experts and such a prestigious organization” commented Verge.Capital’s co-Founder and Chief Risk Officer Ioanna Stanegloudi.
According to Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs, Director of United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network “This is the 3rd edition of the Report, and it again fulfills its role as a key tool to harness youth-led innovation for the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”… “Taken together, the 50 awardees contribute to expanding the global cohort of youth-led innovations that SDSN Youth has been supporting since 2015.”
“When your vision to change the world aligns with such large-scale initiatives, you feel empowered and reassured, to say the least” also said Ioanna.
